I have an Apollo 11 Preliminary Flight Plan, which I bought from a Lunar Legacies auction that was described as coming from the Astronaut Training Room at Kennedy Space Center after the mission when the room was cleared. It has "Aldrin" handwritten on the top right hand side of the front cover. Unlike most Apollo flight plans that you see, this is half the size, over twice as thick and every page is printed on the same coloured card as you see on the front cover of the normal paper versions and has three D shaped steel rings holding it together. I subsequently found out that the employee in question once drove Aldrin's Corvette from Houston to KSC, which is a great story in itself. Does anyone know anything about these smaller flight plans or indeed have one with Collins or Armstrong written on the top right hand side? | |
