For reasons of extreme triviology, I am tallying the mass measurement devices built for Skylab.

The backup Skylab in the National Air and Space Museum has lots of other equipment onboard but I don't know if it has the BMMD, aka Experiment M172. It is not visible in any online imagery, probably because it would be mounted on the deck above the enclosed walkway through the vehicle.

Yes, I have asked the museum, still awaiting a reply. Does anyone have photos or other info on the presence or absence of a BMMD on the backup Skylab in National Air and Space Museum?

The museum's artifact collection catalog does include an entry for a training version of the BMMD. The entry says it is on loan or in storage, though the included photos show it installed on what looks like the grated floor of a Skylab assembly.

All times are CT (US)
