How much did it cost to make one of the Apollo A7L suits? The suits of course were part of a large contract purchase, so isolating an individual price may be difficult. I have heard estimates of up to $2 million per suit. But I have also heard other numbers ($1.5 million). And the price presumably is just for the suit itself (without helmet or gloves). And also, was the command module pilot version of the suit cheaper? It would be interesting to know the price difference between that suit and the lunar EVA version. Also, I wonder how much of a price difference there was between the A7L and the A7LB. |
