I'm looking for any information and photos of the gear that protected sensitive equipment or openings on the space shuttle orbiter. A listing of caps, coverings, Remove Before Flight tags, etc., and their location would be great.

If anyone has the parts/serial number of them that would be a bonus! Thanks!

Is there a standard part number or serial number associated with NASA Remove Before Flight tags? I've been finding that Part Number/Serial Number NAS1756** (* indicating unknown digits) and NAS1756-24 have been used, can this be verified?

The Remove Before Flight tags used with the external tank, if not also the solid rocket boosters and orbiter, had KSC Form numbers along their top, e.g. KSC Form 4-226 (6/77).

You can see an example of this style tag from the external tank flown on STS-1 on the cover of Scott Phillips' aptly-named book, Remove Before Flight.
