I have in my collection an Oxygen Pump Motor Driven. I think it was probably used in some life support system.

It was made by Airesearch Manufacturing Co. The part no. is 825170-1-1 serial no. 120-102 NASA No. 004000120102 NR/SD Cont. ME281-0027-0001. I would be happy to send anyone an image of the pump if you will email me.

This pump looks unused. It also has the NASA triangle stamp. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

Airresearch built the environmental system for the Mercury space capsules. The system design called for two pumps/compressors to be installed; one for the capsule circuit and one for the astronaut suit circuit.

I have been trying to locate a photo or drawing of this pump for a long time. The only drawing I have ever found was the schematic of the system, but no real detail of the pump. A photo of the pump would be great.

Airesearch built a lot of systems for many different applications. That includes multiple aircraft, manned space programs. Drawing number indicates the pump described above was manufactured for a North American Rockwell Contract; not the prime for Project Mercury (MAC).

All times are CT (US)
