Well I just got this sucker off eBay. The seller had obtained it in a NASA auction. It looks to be one of the Clio C-1050s that were sent up to the ISS in August of 2001. It's had a bit of a rough time as the hinge is cracked but otherwise it seems fine. Also comes with a RS232 cable and port adapter.

The regular power port has been plugged up, the modem port has been drilled out and then a power wire has been run through it into where the battery would have gone and connects to the +/- tabs for the battery. The other end has a bayonet style connector they used in the space station as far as I know. Of course it also has the signature blue velcro tabs.

Now I need to see about getting a power source and see if this thing works. It was supposedly used for e-mail on the space station. The power plug is just filled with hot glue, but I think I'd rather not mod it, so I will rig up some external power and see how it goes.

Well I can confirm it works. Hooked up power and it came right up. Looks like they wiped it though before selling it so no fun ISS goodies on it.

Here's a photo of Frank Culbertson working with one of the Clio PDAs during Expedition 3.

Ah ha! Thanks. I was trying to find pics from Expedition 3 that showed just that. I wonder if that's mine since my PDA has S/N 1001 and that's PDA1.
