Recently aquired a couple of large panels including one rear left side verticle stabilizer component with the first two digits of the tail number...any other collectors out there who have or are aware of the location of any pieces with the remainder of the tail number?? Would love to see them reunited for some images...

Components viewable here---->

Very nice Scott, you've really added some great stuff to your collection recently.

Cheers,

Scott.....I envy you possessing the remains of X-15 # 3 ....they are wonderful !! I have a serious remnant of X-15 #2 that I treasure and went through an ownership issue with the USAF over possessing it that I can only hope you do not encounter. My remnant was removed from ship # 2 and traded with a "new" replacement. It was flown on Pete Knight's record Mach 6.7 flight. It is great to hear that you have remnants of X-15 # 3 !! Congratulations !! Truly fabulous items !! Best Always....Donald Brady

Thanks Matt/Don.....my understanding is that because the X-15A #3 crash (1967) predates more stringent rules that are applicable to current NTSB investigations, ownership of these components, which were essentially left at the debris field is not a problem . There are a number of much smaller fragments in the public domain and 1 or 2 larger ones that are known to exist (for example a 2x2 foot component in Wing and a Prayer Cafe just outside Edwards AFB).....with no ownership challenges presented...

Don...would love to see your component if available on website or if you get a chance send me an image online...

R/Scott

Scott.....I would eagerly share my component with you !! I can send a photo to you if you simply furnish me with your email address. I did not name the component in my message because I do not want any more threats from any government agencies to sieze it from me.I have had enough of that .The issue has died and I would just as soon leave it dead. PLEASE email me and I will provide more of the story and a photo !! Best Always....Don
