This medallion is now in the stages of final completion by Winco and will be available through multiple venues soon. More details to come as they are available.

I don't get this. It's not like they didn't know the anniversary was coming, yet this coin is pretty much a year late?

There is still another Apollo 11 collectable to follow. The 50th anniversary year runs July 2019-20. This particular one is my favourite Winco piece... so far.

Really beautiful coin, my first impulse buy in a while.

Update: The coin arrived without the packaging, just in a holder, but wow it's beautiful. Highly recommended.

As we're now into 2021, has this second Apollo 11 medallion, as indicated above by Spaceman, been released?

I can see there are two versions of the Apollo 13 50th medallion (black and bronze) but I've only seen one Apollo 11 medallion, as shown above?

There is a thread on the other coin, seen on eBay and sites now. Same front different back.

Yes, I saw that thread but don't see that there's a second Apollo 11-specific medallion, which Spaceman alluded to above. What am I missing?! Is it just the same medallion as above but with the new generic backing card?

To my knowledge, there is only one "Official NASA" Apollo 11 50th anniversary medallion from Winco.

There were two Apollo 13 editions, but that was a special case. The Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 medallions have mission-specific backer cards; the others (will) have a card that is generic to the entire Apollo program.

All times are CT (US)
