Does anyone have information on the Nation of Celestial Space that gave our Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts passports to the moon, and also made gold space coins back in the 60s?

According to Edwin S. Strauss' book, "How To Start Your Own Country", the entry for "The Nation of Celestial Space" reads...
In 1948, James Thompson Mangan (Oak Lawn, IL) laid claim to all of space, calling his nation 'Celestia'. Some coins were minted: the Erg, the Gold Celeston, and the Silver Joule. He was reported still active in 1959. In 1964, he wrote a book on salemanship called "The Secret of Perfect Living," which seems to have fone fairly well.
Strauss' book has has a copy of the forming declaration of "The Nation of Celestial Space", as well as a picture of a sheet of their postage stamps. No mention is made of the space programs and Celestia, and the book's copyright is 1999.

Also see Wikipedia's entry for the Nation of Celestial Space.

I have a clipping from a Chicago Tribune or Sun-Times newspaper of the 1969-era, with the Apollo flights, he got "new" publicity about his Nation of Celestia project.

All times are CT (US)
