Sleep Shorts

Missions: N/A
Comment: Part No. SED 33102967-301; Size: Med[ium];
Contract No. NAS-9-17415

This pair of sleep shorts was manufactured in May 2003 to be worn by a Space Shuttle crewmember during flight. The shorts, which feature three Velcro® strips on each thigh for attaching personal items, are not just used for sleeping but also while exercising and for comfort inside the orbiter. The space shuttle has four "bunk" beds and flies sleeping bags for the crew to rest inside. These shorts were at one time a part of the U.S. Space Walk of Fame Museum's collection.
