RCS Engine Ground Cover

Mission: Date of Mfg: June 15, 1978
Removed from service: Nov. 20, 1991

Comment: Part no. ME193-0062-0016

This engine ground cover was temporarily installed as a protective barrier on the third of the four right facing RCS (Reaction Control System) thrusters positioned at the aft right of the Space Shuttle orbiter. The cover was used to protect the hypergolic engine from contamination. As its inscription instructs, the cover was removed prior to flight.
