Spacesuit (EMU) Glove Bladder Layer

Missions: N/A
Comment: Part No. 0106-88971-01; Serial No. 022,
Size 082H (left)

This extravehicular mobility unit (EMU) left glove's bladder layer was manufactured by ILC Dover in Oct. 1987 for use by NASA's space shuttle program. The bladder is made of urethane material and is designed to maintain pressure in the glove assembly, while not limiting the finger joints and wrist gimbals. A Teflon liner provides abrasion protection to the bladder from the comfort glove, wristlet or liquid cooling and ventilation garment (LCVG). The inside of the bladder is flocked with small cotton fibers to reduce rucothane tack for ease of donning and doffing.
