This Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) left boot's thermal micrometeoroid garment (TMG) layer was manufactured by ILC Dover in June 1982 for use by NASA's Space Shuttle Program. This TMG layer would have been used to cover a pressure boot assembly, which in turn was a component of the spacesuit's lower torso assembly.
