This pink plastic bag was used to hermetically seal small nylon United States flags that were flown on Columbia for the purpose of later presentation to dignitaries and NASA employees. It was packed inside the command module as part of the Apollo 11 Official Flight Kit. A spacecraft parts tag indicates that the flags were prepared in January 1969. This bag was obtained from the individual responsible for packing the flags pre-flight and unpacking them post-flight.
