I just picked up a copy of the 1988 book "Illustrated History of NASA" by Robin Kerrod and it had two autographed lithos in it. One super awesome pencil litho if Alan Shepard hand autographed and one of Rudy Opitz.

Does anyone else have this book and were these lithos included? Mine are sort of haphazardly glued in.

I don't have the book anymore, but isn't there are a book that is just these types of lithos? I believe it came out in the early 70's and had all of the astronauts up to that point.

Just saw this at Half Price Books, no lithos, but fine job, if I may say so.

Thanks, I was curious if there are other lithos like this signed. The Shepard is pretty cool.

Also I just noticed on one of the inside pages it is signed by Al Powell and there is a sticky note that says "one of the creators of the moon rover."

The book that bwhite1976 mentions that has similar artwork (pencil sketches) to the lithos in the Kerrod book may be 'America's Journeys into Space: The Astronauts of the United States' (1979) with text by Anthony J. Cipriano and drawings by the late William Joffe Numeroff.

I have two copies, one to read and the other signed by Cipriano and Numeroff at the 10th anniversary celebration for Apollo 11 in Washington in 1979. Numeroff was an artist for the World Telegram & Sun newspaper in NYC in the 40s and 50s.

He also created unique hand-drawn cachet art for space event covers, including the rare X-15 flown covers taken by Maj. Pete Knight on his record-setting flight of Oct. 3. 1967. If any cSers are in NYC, one panel with a Numeroff X-15 cover is currently on display in the astrophilately exhibition section of the 2016 World Stamp Show.

All times are CT (US)
