I've been putting together a series of alternate history space exploration novellas. The first one, "Zero Phase," imagines an alternate scenario for Apollo 13 in which they land on the moon.

I did as much research as I could, and I got some input and feedback from Jim Lovell, which was pretty cool. I'm eager to hear any thoughts and commentary from the collectSPACE crowd.

You may find it on Kindle at Amazon.

Zero Phase: Apollo 13 on the Moon
by Gerald Brennan

May, 1970. After a one-month launch delay, Apollo 13 lands in the Fra Mauro Highlands of the moon — and then the trouble starts.

The first in a series of what-if stories from the golden age of space exploration, Zero Phase was written based on meticulous research, and with assistance from two Apollo astronauts: Dr. Edgar Mitchell, the only remaining person to have visited the Fra Mauro Highlands — and Captain Jim Lovell, the man who was supposed to go. Dramatic, detailed, and finely written, this novella is a must-read for space aficionados and literary enthusiasts alike.

I read Zero Phase a few months ago and thought it was a very interesting and absorbing read. I was pleasantly surprised that the alternate history of a near disaster could be just as gripping. Very creative. I definitely look forward to hearing about your other efforts.

I also found myself most intrigued by this what-if story...

Thanks! I just launched Public Loneliness last week; I have a couple more scenarios in mind that I've more or less plotted out. I'm hoping to have five stories in the series when all is said and done.
