PuffinBooks has announced that its new kids' book, "Goodnight Spaceman" will include a letter from ESA astronaut Tim Peake.
Prepare for lift off! Excited to reveal our picturebook "Goodnight Spaceman," made in partnership with astronaut Tim Peake.
And from author Michelle Robinson:
We made "Goodnight Spaceman" as a companion book to Tim's ESA Principia mission to the International Space Station. The book centers around two young children whose father is an astronaut. They imagine visiting him and his crewmates onboard the ISS, before returning home to bed.

While the story was written with Tim's own family in mind, we hope it speaks directly to each and every young child who looks to the stars and dreams.

Goodnight Spaceman
by Michelle Robinson and illustrator Nick East
Inspired by ESA astronaut Tim Peake and his sons, and featuring an introduction from Tim, this is the perfect bedtime book!

Two space-mad little boys get ready for bed and say goodnight to their toy rockets, launch pads and planet mobiles, before being whisked away into space on an adventure beyond their wildest dreams...

Tim Peake is the first official British ESA astronaut. He left Earth on 15th December 2015 to begin a six month long mission aboard the International Space Station. His time in space has been watched by millions and he is inspiring a new generation of explorers, adventurers and questioners.

Goodnight Spaceman is the sixth book in Michelle Robinson and Nick East's beloved series.

Penguin has posted a preview of "Goodnight Spaceman," including the letter by Tim Peake:
We are all astronauts, young and old, zooming around the Solar System on our very own spaceship: planet Earth.

When I look up at the stars, I see the future – filled with further space exploration and new scientific discoveries. I see my two young sons looking up at those same stars, and I remember experiencing the early feelings of wonder and excitement that I now see on their faces.

Goodnight Spaceman is a delightful book that tells the story of two children, just like my sons, who dream of joining their dad on his adventures in space. I hope it may inspire a new generation of boys and girls to look up at the stars and not just ask questions but to go and seek answers of their own.
