I am looking for a source of good, hi res. photos - preferably copyright-free - of the early Russian space program. Gararin, Tereshkova, Vostok rocket, Titov and LK lander and N1-L3 rocket. Can anyone point me in the right direction? All thoughts welcome!

Nothing much online really, but this site GRIN once had a very few shots of Gagarin, Titov and Tereshkova, as far as I remember.

Otherwise the Russian news agency Nowosti is a good source with plenty of material, but it is not free of charge and copyright protected.

Videocosmos in Russia also has a large archive, but same conditions apply.

Last, but not least, Tasillo Römisch from Space Services International sells 4" to 6" prints with the official portraits of almost all cosmonauts at a very fair price. See his website.

Hope this helps...

Another "trick" is to visit gctc.ru, the website of Star City. In the news section, they often refer to older flights / cosmonauts. Copy the link of the image, open it in a new browser window and usually, it turns out to be high resolution. Sometimes, by simply changing the image number in the url, you will find pictures that are not shown on the original web page.
