I just stumbled on this piece from 1994, with an emotional reminiscence by Eugene Kranz, at one minute 50 seconds:

Rick Houston cited this very scene in his review of the DVD for our earlier "Go/No Go" series:
Also, near the end of the program, Kranz, ever the hard-core, former Marine pilot, complete with the crew-cut hairstyle, stops in mid-stream as he's discussing the return of the Apollo 13 crew.
"Aww, s*** ... it was neat," he says, and wipes away a tear. That scene alone is very nearly worth the price tag.

The producers of Apollo 13 also cited this moment in the interview as for what they were trying to achieve with the end in mission control where Ed Harris as Gene sheds a little tear when Odyssey is seen on the main parachutes. This documentary aired when the movie was still in production.
Sy Liebergot also has fond memories of it as well since for his interview, the producers took the ECOMM console in the MOCR and set it up with the data he saw on the screen at the time of the crisis. He also demonstrated the handhold grab a mission controller does when they are under stress.

The "Apollo 13: To the Edge and Back" program is the best documentary on the subject, bar none. I remember watching it on PBS multiple times in the mid 90s (before the Hollywood movie came out) and felt that the Ron Howard film missed out on some of the detail and suspense that is conveyed in the PBS documentary.
If you get one DVD on the subject of Apollo 13, this is the one to have!

Based on the review and recommendations here, I just ordered this DVD new through Amazon for US $13.27, including shipping. Also took advantage of a couple other great deals: Andrew Chaikin's "A Passion for Mars" in hardcover for US $10.67, and the Discovery Channel's 4-DVD "When We Left Earth" set for US $12.49. Some great bargains to be had there.

I bought it at the source, along with their "To The moon" DVD, for a lot less, great service.

Thanks to the poster above me for pointing out the great deal on this DVD at the WGBH store! I also picked up the same two DVDs (Apollo 13: To the Edge and Back, and To the Moon) using the link he gave. I don't know whether it still works, but I was also able to use the coupon code BACK01 to get another 15% off. In total I spent about $16 to get both DVDs, including tax and shipping.
Both programs were enjoyed not just by me, but also by everyone in the house.
