I just got hold of the new Apollo book, Apollo The Epic Journey to the Moon.

As I was reading it I came across references to Fritz Lang's Frau im Mond.

My question is does anybody know how to get hold of a copy of this film? Does the Smithsonian NASM have them?

Frau im Mond was among some of the first practical layperson explanations of how to get into space ever put on film. I have been looking for it for years. I have checked many film and video stores. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have checked the various amazon companies on the web (including the one in Germany) and am afraid to say Fritz Lang's film is not on the market at the moment. In Lang's oeuvre, it is not considered one of his best, which might explain this.

Considering Lang's position in the history of the movie, a cinema museum or archive might be the best place to look.

Just a quick "heads-up" for those in the U.K., Fritz Lang's silent movie "Woman in the Moon" has just been released in the U.K.

The 1929 movie classic is all of 163 minutes long! It is region 2 PAL format and seems to be for sale only in the U.K. and Ireland. Aren't we privileged! It apparently has the original German inter-titles but optional English translations. It's available from HMV. I haven't checked Amazon.
