Hello everyone,I'd like to take this opportunity to let you all know about a new Apollo 11/HSK DVD available on the www.honeysucklecreek.net website which contains hitherto unseen footage from the Apollo 11 mission. Ed von Renouard happened to bring his 8mm movie camera to the tracking station July 21, 1969 (in Australia this was the actual date) and filmed some of the mission off the hi-res pre scan converted monitor. As a result there is some very clear footage of Armstrong's descent (similar in resolution the the photos taken off the hi-res monitors which are also available at the above mentioned website). There is also the only known existing recording of the PLSS jettison post LEVA, and some additional material from later Apollo missions and Skylab. In all for those of you who are hard core Apollo 11 buffs, this material is a welcome addition to your collection. I can't stress enough how much work Colin Mackellar put into these DVDs, and subsequently how great these DVDs look because of it. many thanks Dwight |

Sounds like very cool stuff; us Americans will need to wait until the NTSC version is ready! |

I think thoses DVD's will play on any PC, or on newer DVD players. They newer issued players are not format specific. |

To the best of my knowledge, PAL DVDs should play on a PC or Mac, it is on the standalone units that you may encounter problems. Can anyone here who is US based confirm that? However, Colin is set to properly standards convert the raw video to NTSC and completely reauthor the DVDs. cheers Dwight |

I'm astounded at how much better the resolution is in the photos off the monitor than what I have seen on other DVDs. |
