via NASA's History Division:Project Apollo: The Tough Decisions by Robert C. Seamans, Jr. is Monograph in Aerospace History No. 37 (NASA SP-2005-4537). A very insightful and well-written memoir covering his time as NASA's Deputy and Associate Administrator during the 1960s, this monograph expands upon the NASA chapter in his autobiography Aiming at Targets (NASA SP-4106, 1996). NASA employees may pick up a copy of this attractive, hard-cover monograph in the History Division (Headquarters room CO72). Interested readers may also obtain a copy by sending a self-addressed, stamped (for 17 ounces) to the Headquarters Information Center, first floor, NASA Headquarters, Washington, DC 20546. This monograph is also online as a PDF. High-Speed Dreams: NASA and the Technopolitics of Supersonic Transportation, 1945-1999 by Erik M. Conway is the latest title in the New Series in NASA History by the Johns Hopkins University Press. This is a carefully researched and clearly written book that offers insightful analysis of its significant topic. It is available for sale from the Hopkins Press for $49.95. | |
