I was browsing Apple's iTunes Store for their new TV show releases and found a few space history-themed episodes and documentaries available (for $1.99 each). The selection includes: (NOTE: The above links require iTunes to be installed first.)In addition, though not yet available, I saw today that Apple has partnered with DMGI to offer their audio-visual archives. DMGI video content that Apple will add to iTunes includes: - Greatest US Space Liftoffs
- Greatest Soviet Space Liftoffs
- Soviet Space Disasters
The deal also includes "historic newsreels from the mid-1920s to the mid-1960s". Source: MacNN |

Both of the above are excellent. I think the first one is a little more interesting, because it goes into the construction of the craft. The latter one focuses on the early research performed by the rovers on Mars. However, both are available cheap on DVD and if you really want to enjoy the nice graphics, that is a better way to go. |

There's also a 20-minute ABC News segment on the Challenger disaster in the iTunes store. I just got an 80-gig iPod, so these should eat up a little more space... |

I was having a potter about on the UK ITunes store today and came accross something called 'The Apollo Missions' released on 1st January 2008 by N A S A (I presume as opposed to N.A.S.A. which I guess means it is an 'unofficial' thing)It basically seems to be a collection of recordings from the various Apollo missions of dialogue between the astronauts and mission control, but I just wondered if anyone knew whether this was worth getting or not? |

iTunes also has a great NOVA episode entitled "AstroSpies," about the MOL project. it's a great way to spend an hour or so. |
