I have always found that living in Australia that i would probably never get a chance to meet a astronaut in person. But this week Andy Thomas from various shuttle missions and time on the Mir space station was in Brisbane. I met him at a hotel prior to a engineering function he was speaking at. He took the time to sign 2 photos for me as well as have a photo taken with me and to answer a couple of questions, even though he did not have much time as he needed to get to the function, he was the nicest person I had ever met... just thought I'd share this experience with everyone and i can no longer say i get jealous of not being in the USA.
