Very nice Geoff. What software/guide did you use? I've got to get round to doing this myself.Paul Bramley |

Nice collection! I like seeing collections like this.On a related topic, are there recommedations out there for building collection websites...software to use, places to host the website, etc? I'd like to display my own collection on the internet someday and would be grateful for any advice that someone can offer! Mark |

The book I used is called "Creating Cool Web Sites with HTML, XHTML and CSS" by Dave Taylor. As for software, I'm just typing in wordpad. I used something called Coffeecup Imagemaker to make the image map for my menubar, but the rest is manual coding. www.pureupload.com is a great website for storing pictures and it even writes out the image coding needed for web pages. www.atspace.com is a free webhost, though it doesn't offer a whole lot of space, so I just keep the html files on it and store all the pictures on pureupload. I bought the book in september and my goal was to have the site up and running by the first of the year, so it worked out pretty well. I definately recommend the book if you want to teach yourself. It's got good examples and it's easy to follow. Geoff |

Geoff, you did a beauty of a job on that website, but what I love best is that you were able to capture something that it's easy to lose sight of: the joy that kind of collection can bring. Your "favorites" section brought a lot of smiles, and almost has me wanting to get out a few glossies and some envelopes of my own!jodie |

Very nice web site and collection. I always like looking at others collections. One suggestion, I'm not sure if you can do it. It would be nice to see all the autographs you have of an astronaut on one page. Under Peggy Whitson you have a photo that is signed both by Whitson and by Laurel Clark. I would like to have seen that photo under Laurel Clark as well. Same with the crew photos, have that photo under each of the crew members individually. The Dream and Promise (listed under Sullivan) photo is impressive. Did you get all of these yourself? |

The Dream and the Promise picture is from the History of Nasa book. It's the only thing in my collection signed by her at the moment. I do plan to make an individual page for each astronaut with all the autographs I have of them, but for the moment just have a single item linked. I'll be able to add the new htmls in pretty easy as I get them set up. Thanks everyone, for the replies both here and by email. I've gotten some good suggestions. Regards, Geoff |
