At the UACC annual convention this past July (in Rutherford, NJ), I was told I had been named the recipient of the 2001 George and Helen Sanders Autograph Collector of the Year Award. In all honestly, I was taken aback by the honor... it was quite a surprise and I was quite touched.I was told I would be contacted "later" with details. Well, I noticed soon thereafter that the announcement was made on their website, but they had misspelled my name. I e-mailed the contacts I could find, but heard nothing back. Its been several months and I have heard nothing further and in at least one instance, e-mail sent to their president was returned b/c "user's account is inactive". I am hoping someone from the UACC reads this and he/she will contact me. I'd really just like to know if there is some type of official letter or certificate or something that I can proudly display in my office... |

I'm happy to report that I am now in touch with Paul Carr, President of the UACC. As is more frequent in this information age, a combination of incorrect addresses on both our parts caused the miscommunication. |

Robert,Congratulations! It's always nice when someone is recognized for their outstanding contributions. The fact that the UACC recognizes you is indeed an honor. Through cS, you have done a heck of a lot for one of my strongest passions, and for that I say "thank you!" and I hope you receive many more awards for your on-going efforts to keep the flame burning brightly. Congratulations, Robert! I can't think of anyone in our hobby more deserving of the UACC honor of collector of the year. Many of us take your collectSPACE web site for granted, but nothing in the space hobby would be more missed. What a wonderful & convenient place to go for almost anything desired relating to space & space collecting. Bob Mc. |

I too would like to add my congratulations to Robert. The best thing I ever did when I finally could afford to hook up to the internet was to find collectSPACE. I've met so many new people and my collection has expanded tenfold! Well done Robert. Jacqueline |

Thanks everyone! I can truly say that collectSPACE (and my personal autograph collection) wouldn't be what it is today without your support and friendship.(I learned yesterday that a plaque bearing my name and the award is on its way. I had moved since the honor was bestowed and had forgotten to update my contact information with the UACC, hence the delay reaching me.) |
