Armstrong Air & Space Museum release
Apollo 11: To the Moon and Back

The new "Apollo 11: to the Moon and Back" exhibit at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio will feature three new artifacts related to Apollo 11 and Ohio astronaut Neil Armstrong. The items include:

  • Neil Armstrong's Biological Isolation Garment (BIG) used after splashdown on Apollo 11. This suit has never been on public display before!

  • A piece of fabric from the Wright Brothers' first airplane, taken to the lunar surface by Armstrong.

  • A piece of Kapton foil removed from the Apollo 11 Command Module after splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.
Officially opens Wednesday, July 14, 2021
