The Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, Michigian (just west of Detroit) is hosting a traveling exhibit about the Apollo program with more than 100 objects and artifacts on display. It is scheduled to run from Oct. 17, 2020 through Jan. 3, 2021.

While visiting family in Richmond over Thanksgiving, I wanted to go to the wonderful Virginia Museum of History and Culture. I'd been there before and was very impressed.
Imagine my delight when I discovered that a huge temporary exhibit was "Apollo: When We Went to the Moon." I highly recommend it for anyone who can get there before it closes on Dec. 31st.
I'm a little spoiled having the National Air and Space Museum (Mall and Udvar-Hazy) so close, and I've visited the Cosmosphere and other museums, but there were still things in this exhibit that I'd never seen before. And if you're visiting with family and friends who aren't into space as much as you, it starts with a room showing the historical context, and a huge video timeline.
Then there is the huge room with original spacecraft hardware and other artifacts. Perhaps best of all for Virginians, on the other side of the hall is a third room entirely about our state's role in the space program, from Langley to Wallops and beyond.
Don't miss in the lobby the 1:10 Saturn V model, which was in fact launched thousands of feet up in 2009. (I attended that launch over in Delaware - you can hear my thrilled/terrified laugh on a YouTube video at 1:20, as this school-bus-sized thing seemed poised to fall on us before the chutes deployed.)

I made the trip to Richmond last month to see the exhibit after seeing it advertised on a billboard passing through Richmond earlier.
I agree with you that the exhibit was great and well worth the visit if you are in the area.

The exhibit will open Tuesday, March 26 at the Intrepid Museum, docked on the Hudson River in Manhattan, New York City. It will be on view at the Space Shuttle Pavilion, which houses test orbiter Enterprise.

Given it was navy ships that recovered the Apollo crews and spacecraft after splashing down from the moon, it is appropriate that the largest temporary exhibit ever hosted by the Intrepid — a converted aircraft carrier — is themed to the first lunar landings.
The museum, which since 1982 has been docked on the west side of Manhattan, has landed "Apollo: When We Went to the Moon," a sprawling display that "highlights the remarkable history of humanity's voyage beyond our home planet and the extraordinary individuals who made it happen."
