I was in Edinburgh yesterday to see the Ron Mueck fantastic 'human' sculptures (absolutely incredible) and the Edinburgh Tattoo.

while there also went to the Museum and discovered - by chance - that they have the Gemini Rogallo wing test capsule (with tricycle undercarraige) on display. Took couple images including one from overhead showing interior layout. This vehicle is the same one that was at Manchester Air and Space Museum some years ago.

Also, full size UK Black Knight rocket is on display. [Think this too may have been at Manchester ?]

There was a MER-like 'mars robot' that could be steered around mock surface.

They also have a fanastic collection of early astronomical instruments including telescopes, various 'circles' and early lunar and mars globes. A large number of other related equipment including an early contemporary set of "Napiers bones" - which I have been wanting to see for years (only seen photos before) ! A good collection of early Indian and other far eastern astronomical equipment also on display .
