I took my family to Legoland Windsor yesterday and after having fun on all the rides (and getting soaked on the wet ones!) we went and had a look in an area called Miniland. It's basically Lego models of many building and sights around the world. They were all amazing but the best for me was an incredible version of the Kennedy Visitor's Center. They had a shuttle stack on the pad, crawlers, VAB, the full visitors center with rocket garden, shop, Explorer orbiter and it even had the astronauts that stick out above the entrance! I'll post picks later but if anyone is planning to visit make sure you see the shuttle engine burn (you wont miss it if you watch the countdown clock!) |

Cool! I'd like the see the photos of that. I don't know if they still have it, but at the REAL Legoland in Billund, Denmark they had a very nice Saturn V on the crawler with launch pad gantry and everything. When I was a kid, my dad took a photo of it, framed it, and I had it hanging above my bed for years. I wonder where that old photo went? |
