In 1976, astronaut James Lovell made a cameo appearance in the Nicolas Roeg movie 'The Man Who Fell to Earth'. Lovell (left) is seen here in late 1975 with David Bowie during production of the film. Bowie plays Thomas Jerome Newton, a humanoid alien who travels to Earth from a distant planet.
