The Gemini 11 astronauts have some fun in the simulator at the Kennedy Space Center during a photoshoot for their crew portrait in September 1966. At left is command pilot Pete Conrad with his backup Neil Armstrong. Pilot Dick Gordon appears to crush his backup Bill Anders at right. |

That’s a fantastic image, I haven’t seen it before either. I love the impromptu shots that look like although they were getting on with serious business, it must have been great fun too in the KSC! |

Thanks for posting this great photo of the lighter side of the Gemini program. I always thought that the Gemini capsule was cramped for 2 occupants, perhaps this image was used to convince the crew that there was enough room for two crew on a long duration mission. |
