The B-52 mothership performs the traditional fly-by salute following the final flight of the M2-F3 lifting body on December 20, 1972. It was the highest flight for the vehicle. NASA-pilot John Manke is at right.

The Lifting Bodies was a great program, and this is a nice picture.

Love how you can see the contrails/exhaust streaming from the B-52. Gives a real sense of power. Quite an aircraft.
