Apollo 9 backup command module pilot Dick Gordon climbs into an Apollo docking simulator at the Langley Research Center on September 5, 1968. The simulator allowed the capsule to pitch, yaw and roll, giving astronauts the sensation of flying while making slight directional changes.

We say it over and over... "I've never seen that photo." But I've never seen a photo of that simulator!

Can you imagine current health and safety officials looking at this. They'd have a nightmare.
