Although the photo isn't old, there is a lot of space history in it. Five former astronauts pose with the Orion crew module stacked on top of the service module in the refurbished Operations and Checkout Building at KSC, newly named for Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong. From left, are Kennedy Space Center Director Bob Cabana, Apollo 11 command module pilot Michael Collins, Apollo 11 backup commander Jim Lovell, Apollo 11 lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin, and NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden. The visit of the former astronauts was part of NASA's 45th anniversary celebration of the Apollo 11 flight last week. |

Wow. I'd have loved to have been there. I've met and talked with each of them except for Mike Collins. He's tough to track down. |

I hope General Collins is going well. He only recently lost his wife of many years. |

Speaking of the Apollo 11 crew, it would be neat to see various pictures of them during their White House visits over the decades... |

So this is the NASA admin, the KSC director and the alternate Apollo 11 crew? |

It seems so, he was on 21 July at the KSC (see recent sightings). |
