Forty years ago today, the Apollo 12 mission was moving closer to launch. But already the Apollo 13 hardware was being prepared at the Kennedy Space Center. LM-7 is seen here as it is removed from the altitude chamber, where is was tested by the prime crew and the backup crew. Six months later this spacecraft would save the lives of three astronauts.
