Shannon Walker, the first native Houstonian to fly in space, is writing a blog for the Houston Chronicle during her stay aboard the International Space Station as part of the 24th and 25th expedition crews.

On June 23, she filed her first entry from In Orbit:

You cannot see much out of the windows when you are strapped into your seat. But, as we were nearing the Station I could see the very tips of the U.S. Segment solar arrays. That was amazing.
