Just noticed the photo of Charles Hobaugh for STS-129 (JSC2009-E-225884) is not just similar to, but identical to, his photo for STS-118 (JSC2007-E-05835) the only difference being the mission patch on the suit. Both pictures are credited as having been taken in Nov 2006 so presumably the later has been photo-shopped to add the STS-129 patch, but does anyone know of a reason for doing this and if we will see more of this sort of thing? It just strikes me as an odd thing to do - anyone else think so... |

There is (well almost) a precedent for this...Alan Poindexter had two identical ACES portraits. One without any mission patch and one with STS-122. I can only guess Charles H was happy enough with the first portrait and/or time didn't permit an updated photo to be taken. Well spotted anyway Ken. | |
