I just finished reading the wonderful chapter in "In the Shadow of the Moon" concerning Apollo 8. I very much enjoyed getting to meet William Anders, even if it was through the printed page. The comments about the work of the Anders Foundation made me think that making a small contribution would be a great way to mark Earth Day. I did not find an address doing quick web search. Does anyone know how to contact them? Thanks. Regards, Mikie |

I'm delighted to hear that not only did you enjoy the book, but it has also inspired you to make a charitable contribution - thank you so much for the feedback! |

Well, I tried. I sent in a small donation but it was returned with this reply..."The Anders Foundation is a private foundation and does not receive donations from individuals. However, one of the main projects of the Foundation is to support the Heritage Flight Museum in Bellingham, WA. Check out the website at heritageflight.org". Thier recommendation is good enough for me. I'm passing this along in case anyone else cares to make a contribution. Regards, Mikie

I met Bill Anders a few weeks back. He was low key, but I asked him about the photo of the earthrise. He became animated and said that now "even Lovell" admits that Anders took that picture. For me, Apollo 8 was IT, and meeting Bill Anders is something I will always remember. http://www.museumofspacetravel.com |
