Does anyone know if any of Wernher von Braun's team of German engineers who came to the U.S. ever had any chance to meet up with the Germans who went to build rockets in Russia? Did they get along before WW2 ended or were they ideologically different? I'm curious if any of them were able to work together in later years.

Can someone help verify how many of the German rocket scientists are still alive and who they are? I know of only six for sure. Dannenberg, Jacobi, Schlidt, Fichtner, Stuhlinger nd Holderer. I'm wondering about Dieter Grau, Heinz Hilton and G. von Tiesenhausen. Thanks for any help.

Add Heinz Millinger to the list, one of those who returned to Germany fairly early.

Hermann Weidner is also alive and lives in Germany.

Dieter Grau seems to have moved to Texas to live with his son.

I have an album on my website devoted to the autographs of the members of Dr. Wernher von Braun's original 118 team of rocket pioneers from Peenemuende, Germany.

I worked on getting their autographs in the late '70's and into the '80's and ended up with autographs of 81 of the 118. 80 of their autographs are shown, along with various related material.

It's the 17th album down from the top.

That's a great collection of autographs from the German rocket scientists! Plus, it's a good resource for some signatures that are quite rare.

Great to see Dr. von T's autograph in there. Meeting with him is one of the best things about attending Space Camp.

All times are CT (US)
