A funny story from the UACC show...

Later in the day on Sunday, I approached
Jack Lousma about asking him a few questions regarding NASA and space travel
as I am doing my MBA thesis loosely based on a few NASA related topics.

Needless to say, being the wonderful man that he is, Mr. Lousma kindly obliged. The interview was going great for about 15-20 minutes (I was taping
the whole thing).

I just listened to it today to transcribe what Mr. Lousma said and I just re-heard a pretty funny moment.

As Lousma is describing to
me what he feels will be the next manned space vehicle, Wally Schirra walks
up to my tape recorder and says into the recorder, "Come on, do you really
wanna to quote this guy"? Jack immediately replied "Hey! I want to get my
name in this thesis!"

Just a funny moment from two fantastic and friendly guys. It will be on
tape forever and will always be a memorable moment for me from is becoming the most challenging paper of my entire life!

Just felt like sharing it.
Jay

Definitely a great story, Jay!
That alone should get you an 'A' on your paper!

Jack Lousma seems like a great guy. I felt a bit guilty spending several minutes of his time talking about politics at the 2004 show and then not purchasing an autograph. But my budget was limited.

I had expressed my regret that he did not win the Senate seat in Michigan when he ran in 1984. He was very good natured about that and had no regrets about running the race. A very good attitude.
