Wanted to let the community know about the Zero-G flight auction up at RR Auction. It is a rare opportunity to snag a weightless flight with none-other-than Apollo 16 moonwalker Charlie Duke. Lots of perks included, like pictures with Duke and dinner with him, etc. I was the original seat owner, but a couple of weeks ago ripped the retina in my right eye in several places. After laser surgery, I am in an extended healing process and the Zero-G flight was a "no-go" for me from my doctor unless I wanted to risk losing my eye-sight. Trust me, I thought long and hard about it... Nonetheless, this auction is going up with no reserve and at a starting bid well below normal Zero-G flight costs, as well as well below the Astronaut Experience Zero-G flight original cost. Additionally, if the bidding goes nuts and goes over the original seat price as listed in the auction description, all additional proceeds will be donated by RR Auction to charity. If you've ever had an interest, this flight is for the end of November. Hopefully someone grabs this at a good price! you can see the auction listing here. β Rich "How's the left eye? Can I just go with only a left eye?" Jurek |

I'm really sorry about you not being able to make that flight. I was tempted to join after getting the email a few months ago. I hope it sells well at RR! |

What an amazing way to turn one of lifeβs challenges into a very positive thing! All the best to you for a full recovery and kudos for offering this opportunity to all who might benefit from it. I will certainly be bidding! |

Thanks, all. I appreciate it. And the good wishes. Still have a lot of healing to do β and some bluriness and floaties, but getting better. πIt was a real kick in the shorts. But hopefully my misfortune can be a lucky opportunity for someone in our community to fly weightless with Charlie! Good luck to all who bid. |
