100% of the proceeds from this auction benefit the Space Walk of Fame Museum, a 501(c)3 charity that receives no public money for it operation so I you are sending an item to auction help out a great cause at the same time.
Astronaut items already included in this auction will be from Charlie Duke, Ed Gibson, Jack Lousma, Bob Springer and Jon McBride with more to come.
Please contact me or the museum directly for details.

The deadline for consignments to the Space Walk of Fame Charity auction is Sept. 16, 2016.
Not only is this a great venue for selling your extra space collectables it is the only auction supported and advertised by multiple Apollo and shuttle astronauts. See the Fred Haise and Al Worden videos posted for our last auction and look for more videos upcoming for this auction.

You may also want to add details such as payout times, etc. as I can think of a few times where I've decided not to consign because of the unnecessary amount of time it takes to receive payment.
Hope that helps.

Payout time for the auction is about 30 to 45 days. After the auction, invoices are sent and payments are received then consigners are paid.
On our first auction we had all consigners paid in 45 days but most where paid in less then 30 days. It depends on how fast the buyer pay there invoices. Any unsold or lots not paid for are returned to the consigner.

Thank you to everyone who has consigned items for our charity auction. You are supporting a great cause.
I just wanted to remind everyone else there are still four more days to consign. If you contact me before this Sunday's deadline I will exclude shipping time from the deadline.
Auction should be online by Sept. 30. Thank you again.

A Category 4 hurricane is slated to go through Titusville sometime tonight or early Friday. This is a major storm and we have taken every precaution we can to secure not only the artifacts in the museum but also all of the auction lots.
We are fortunate that the museum has a small walk-in vault that was used for record storage many years ago. We have put all the irreplaceable items that will fit in there as there are no windows and 18" thick walls. Everything else has been covered with plastic and where possible put on cinder blocks in case of flooding.
This storm has the wind speed to cause major flooding in the area and massive damage to buildings. I will let everyone know the outcome once the storm passes and we have time to assess the damages.

The Space Walk of Fame is one of my favorite spots to visit when I come to the Space Coast. Not only great exhibits but also great volunteers who run and nurture this museum.
Thank you for protecting America's artifacts from the storm. And all you volunteers, stay safe!

Under mandatory curfew until 7 a.m. Saturday morning. So I am adding more auction lots to our selection.
Storm was no where near as bad as predicted so this is how I deal with cabin fever.

Bidding on auction items has been brisk but to help entice bidders, the starting bids on many items have been lowered. Please check out the auction and let me know what you think.

Now that the huge RR auction is over, please remember our little auction at the Space Walk of Fame Museum and remember every dollar we make goes to a great charity.

Not so much a "little" auction anymore, Chuck, as the Space Walk of Fame Auction #2 is offering more than 300 lots of many different space collecting categories; flown/carried items, hardware from Mercury to shuttle, personal astronaut memorabilia, autograph material, framed artifacts, patches and pins of all kinds, signed books along with literature and booklets of all types, badges, aerospace posters, group lots, and so much more!
A big thanks to Chuck and Karan for mostly putting all of this together for the U.S. Space Walk of Fame Foundation.

Anyone able to advise on lot 67, a high shear separation nut and what and where it functioned? Thanks.

According to Dick Beagley, the separation nut was used to release one of the umbilical arms on the Launch Umbilical Tower. I will try and post photos of his letter of authentication, if possible, before the auction on Saturday. I hope this helps. If any other cS members have any more info please chime in.

That's fantastic sir, thank you. If there are any approximate dimensions that would be superb, it could be quite a big piece.
Thanks again.

The approximate dimensions are 2 1/2" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall It is not a large piece at all.

Today is the big day. I hope you all can attend online or in person.
I would also like to thank Ed Gibson and Jack Lousma for all their help and support. These guys do a lot for us and many other charities.

Agreed - while they're always great at the ASF and Astronaut Encounters I've attended, this year they really went above and beyond... my budget is about to take a hit tonight, hopefully.

A very impressive auction. Perhaps someone can help me with this, though: I placed absentee bids ahead of time, but once the auction started those bids didn't show up on my eBay list of bids, even when I clicked for Live Auction absentee bids. And now that the auction is over I don't know which lots I won. Both of those seem like pretty standard features in an auction. Did anyone else have this issue?
(I'll mention that I know my bids went through, because when I clicked on a specific lot I'd bid on, eBay did show "Your bid:" But there was no summary list, and there still isn't.)

As much as I hate to say it, the eBay interface has had some issues. It seems to always be better to go through Invaluable instead of eBay.
I have to ask anyone who bid through eBay with absentee bids: can you see the results of your bids (lots won and lost)?

Just now reading the above two posts, I've been badly led astray by eBay — following the "ending time" information on eBay I just got set to place all my bids with a safe margin of about two hours, and then discovered that more than 90% of the bidding is over!?!?! Of 37 items I wanted, only three were left for bids. Inexcusable.
Lesson learned, but would've spent more...

I will contact Invaluable with your comments. I have heard several similar complaints.
I would like to apologize for any one who missed the auction due to eBay timing issues. We also started the auction 15 minutes late due to problems logging into the auction interface through Invaluable. But once in, everything went well from our end.
I tried to keep the auction moving this time but we had several bidders in-house I was coaxing bids from. A little humor can get a few extra bids. Sorry for any lot delays.

Thanks for the update — sounds like much of the trouble was on eBay's side (although my bid of $125 on lot #237 was accepted by Invaluable but I still lost, alas), as well as my misunderstanding of the finish times

I'm the high bidder on the STS-91 flown MIR flag. Does anyone know if the flag(s) stayed on the orbiter for the entire mission, or were they ever taken onto MIR?

I did check into that. As far as I can tell the flags stayed in the shuttle stowage and never went aboard the Mir station.

I won one of the lots in this auction, but I have not received an invoice for it yet. I have tried calling a couple of times with no luck. Am I missing something?

As far as I know, I received one call from you today while I was at work. Invoices are being produced as fast as our office staff can get them out. All lots have to be separated by buyer, packaged and addressed so that proper shipping and insurance can be figured. It is a big job and of course all being done by volunteers who do not do this for a living as with some of the large auction houses.
Please be patient and all invoices will be sent by e-mail as soon as we have them complete. Also, I try and answer phone calls in the evening as it is difficult when at work.

Didn't asked to be scolded, the last two sentences would have sufficed. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something.

I think maybe you read too much into that. Chuck wasn't scolding you, he was just advising you that the process is done by volunteers. I understand that sometimes things can read differently only to how they're intended and I'm positive that this is one of those situations.

I wonder if we could help out? I won one item, so if I had a formula for what to add for shipping and handing, I'd could do the math and send in what I calculate by that method. Just a thought.

Invoices for auction items started going out on Monday. Everyone will have there invoice very soon.
I will be away from the museum for about a month for family events and get together. This is the first time in almost 20 years my family is all getting together so, if any one has any questions on there auction items please call the museum directly. I am sure they will be glad to help.
