Special Auction Services (SAS) in the UK will hold a Cameras and Photographic auction on April 30, 2014, including a two-lot "Space Cameras" section: - Lot 175: A GOMZ Leningrad Space Model II Camera, with MIR-1 f/2.8 37mm lens... this camera is based upon a highly modified Leningrad, engineered to the highest standards, to be used in orbit by astronauts, with large dials and extended controls to assist operation of camera whilst wearing gloves. The various labels on the camera are upside down, suggesting it was designed to be mounted upside down in a port hole. Internally the negative mask has a spherical indentation, to accommodate round subjects such as the moon; Estimate: £15000-20000
- Lot 176: A Prototype Russian Lunar Surface Camera, grey, serial no. 71002, body, G, shutter working, marks and scratches to the body, lenses, VG; 'one of a kind' 35mm handheld camera made to take photographs of the lunar surface during the never-realised Soviet effort to land a cosmonaut on the moon between the years of 1969-1974. The 35mm camera was designed by L Karchoi and made by Vladilen J Lunchenko; it was part of a lunar module (LK) spacesuit Krechet-94 Extravehicular. The camera is one of a kind, produced at the Ukrainian Defence complex factory during 1968-1969, passed state inspection and is stamped with the mark top secret. Estimate: £8000-12000
