Regency-Superior is pleased to announce its popular Space and Aviation Autograph & Memorabilia Auction, scheduled to take place on Friday, October 5, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. This auction has nearly 500 space memorabilia lots with strong emphasis on manned space exploration.

Aviation history starts the auction with highlights such as Orville Wright signed letters, Charles Lindbergh signed items and early test flight material related to Neil Armstrong. Also offered, is a silver Congressional Medal awarded by President Woodrow Wilson to the crew of the NC-4 (Curtiss Flying Boat) for being the first to conduct a transatlantic flight in 1919.

Our always strong ‘Rocket’ section includes a Wernher von Braun manuscript with many handwritten notations, and two different flown ‘Regulus’ covers from 1958 (Lot 66 & 67). Both the Mercury Program section and Gemini section have outstanding items signed by Astronaut Gus Grissom, who perished in the Apollo 1 fire.

The extensive Apollo section includes a great presentation collage signed by the first four men to walk on the Moon: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Charles Conrad, Jr & Alan Bean (Lot 111).

Apollo 11 has a flown to the Moon cover signed by the complete crew along with two ‘silk’ U.S. flags that also flew to the moon (one signed by Aldrin). There are also 13 lots of Neil Armstrong single signed items in this section and several items signed by him and the rest of the crew. Apollo 12-17 Missions also have numerous lots that are signed by their entire crews. The later manned space programs, SkyLab, ASTP, Shuttle, ISS, as well as the Soviet/Russian and Chinese programs are well represented.

In our Space Autographs section, we have numerous other desirable signed items, including several Wernher von Braun items, not to mention some really superb group lots including a signed cover holding of 2,500 to 3,000 autographed covers, and another lot containing a group of 20 souvenir sheets signed by early Astronauts (including one signed by Armstrong). The Soviet/Russian section has several large collections of autographed items, including Gagarin and other early cosmonauts.

The Models section is extensive with dozens of contractor models including many ‘Topping’. This section is highlighted by an elaborate Vostok I model in polished stainless steel that is an original official Russian government presentation piece of which only five were produced! There is also a rare and desirable made-for-the military model of the MARS-I interplanetary probe.

We haven’t had such an extensive selection of Autographs & Documents in quite a while. Make sure to leave plenty of time to study this catalog. As always, viewing and live bidding are available 24/7 at RegencySuperior.com.

You can bid LIVE online at RegencySuperior.com. Or, attend the auction in person on Friday, October 5th at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel. For specific questions regarding this auction, please contact Alan Lipkin.

Good luck with your bidding!
