Can someone try and explain something to me regarding bidding via Ebay on items from the Aurora auction? For example, I placed an absentee bid on an item for $90.00. The item opened at $50.00 and my screen showed that I placed that bid of $50.00. Then it also showed that I bid against myself up to $60,$70,$80 and then $90.00. Ultimately the item was won by someone else for $100.00.During the last Aurora acution I place an absentee bid for $250.00. The item opened at $200.00. Again my screen showed that the opening $200.00 bid was mine. However, the screen then showed that I bid against my self placing a bid to $225 and then $250.00. OK. Here is the question. Why do I end up bidding up the price against myself? |

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think if someone else is entering a bid that is lower than your absentee max bid the system automatically increases your bid step by step till the other bidder tops your bid or better explained - as a live bidder my bid won't be accepted until I top the highest absentee bid - that's why it looks like you are bidding against yourself. Now I'd be worried if it starts at $50 and you win the lot bidding against yourself at $90...
