Although the Dragon spacecraft used for the CRS-22 mission is new, it was built using several previously flown parts, including the heat shield used to bring NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley back to Earth on the Demo-2 (DM-2) mission in August 2020.

This is the first time that SpaceX's has reused a Dragon heat shield.

Five spacecraft are parked at the space station, including the SpaceX Crew-2 Dragon and Cargo CRS-22 Dragon vehicles, Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus-15 resupply ship, all three from the United States, and Russia's Progress MS-16 (77) resupply ship and Soyuz MS-18 crew ship.

All times are CT (US)
