What is the status of the RS-83 and RS-84 engines? Are they or have they ever been associated or incorporated into the Orion program?

Rocketdyne's development of the RS-84 ended in the early 2000's, but the design was licensed by SpaceX and became the foundation for the company's Merlin engine. It was briefly looked at last year by Dynetics as a possible engine for the Space Launch System.
I have seen speculation of the RS-83 as being a candidate for the SLS's advanced boosters, if they were to go liquid, but nothing official.

Robert, thanks again. The reason I ask is that I've been acquiring various Orion program pins and had both RS-83 and RS-84 pins and tried to find out the status of the engines. From the information found, the status was ambiguous.
