Trapani, Sicily.- After two years of inactivity, the Italian Space Agency (ASI) had activated again the Luigi Broglio stratospheric balloon launch base, in the west side of Sicily, preparing the launch of a big balloon carrying a scale model of a space plane, wich will be transported off the coast and droped over the sea in free fall.

The vehicle called FTB1 (Flight Test Bed 1) was developed by Carlo Gavazzi Space on behalf of the Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali (CIRA).
