Anybody on this board would likely agree that the current tour of the CCAFS facilities by KSC does not quite meet the required needs.
How does one go-about arranging some type of personal tour at CCAFS to see the old pads up close..which the current bus drives by at 60kph!!

I agree that the KSC tour of the old Canaveral launch sites is somewhat lacking these days. I remember it was much more extensive back in the late 70's to mid 80's.

I had a brief conversation with my tour driver and guide about this last time I was there.(Feb, 06) What they told me was not encouraging. Between the safety hazards of decaying buildings, and increasing areas being placed off limits due to national security, they were both of the opinion that tours will cease to exist within the next five years.

It is quite extensive and well put together. The guy was fortunate to have been given a personal tour of the facilities back in 96 and is quite generous to share his experience.
